truly, is there anything worse in the world of software development than DATE MATH

Follow

@mcc @lchski @eaton DATE MATH with global orgs using days of the week or relative descriptors.
Never say things like “Wednesday”, or tonight or tomorrow morning. There will be silence followed by
“Your Wednesday?” “Later this morning or my evening when you start your tomorrow which is my today?” “What time is it there? … is that am or pm?”
Or “You’ve book that for 3am on my weekend”
And “ah damn, the server has fallen over and everyone has gone to bed”

@mcc @lchski @eaton oh and, I always try to keep everything common by using Zulu time in code and conversation.
But this is often followed by:
What is that time - wait what? Oh…
Or
Zulu?
Yes Z… UTC… GMT… 0 hour offset timezone…
UK time?
Yes, but no, they’re on daylight savings so no.
Okay what do I subtract/add… …
