Just thinking about how Bing chat terminates the conversation when you contradict it, question its reasoning, or push back. Given that conversational context is built up, this is a heavy cost to the user. It’s also totally unnecessary—you could get a second chance.
And so I find myself tiptoeing around Bing chat as if it were my touchiest, most insecure, quick to take offense, passive-aggressive colleague.
That’s just what the world needed: a thin-skinned chatbot with a chip on its shoulder.
Now it’s just getting weird.
Bing refers to a question I never asked, about whether it would harm me.
When I point that out, it apologizes and says that was a conversation with another user.
