Children Are:
-Going to school 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
-Doing 2+ hours after school extracurriculars.
- Doing 2+ hours of homework after they get home.
- Doing hours of weekend sports and activities.
-Not getting paid for any of it.
-Actively being taught that it is normal to work a 60+ hour work week from elementary school.
I think about this all the time. I told my son when I was in school we had 3 recess periods. He only gets one 30 minute recess, which is often cut short. He just looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head. We’re also teaching kids they don’t deserve any breaks or time to go to the bathroom.
