TIL that hot water freezes faster than cold water, this has been known since at least the time of Aristotle, and there is as of yet no single accepted explanation for why.
I heard #JohnMastodon was a man who withdrew from a culture that no longer valued his content. He and his fellow posters founded Mastodon, a decentralized network where their wisdom and talents could be appreciated by the few who had the persistence follow.
#WhoIsJohnMastodon
Spent the last few hours #HopeScrolling on, let’s call it, sector 554-plural-Z of this fediverse - good mood now.
Time for a proper #introduction!
I'm a neuronal cell biologist, leading the NeuroCyto Lab in Marseille, France. We study the functional architecture of the axon down to the nanoscale. We ask: how do the cytoskeleton and scaffolds contribute in making this unique compartment both resilient and adaptable in physiological and pathological conditions? Part of this consists in making the best possible images of cells using advanced microscopy techniques - and these images can also be beautiful!

why did i even buy this, what a dumb idea lmao
#JohnMastodon doesn’t drive a Tesla. He rides a scooter. He landed the first ever 900 on a scooter but it wasn’t caught on film so people say it never happened. Those of us who have met him know better.
#JohnMastodon really isn't getting the level of appreciation that he deserves, if we're all being honest with ourselves.
I am getting various responses to this like, "Looking forward to your twitter archive creator! What happens with my twitter data when I upload it to your service? How do you expect me to upload a multi-gigabyte zip file?"
You don't know me very well. There is no upload at all. There's no service, no server. The data stays on your computer. Everything happens in the browser client
We are all so trained to assume that "web application" means "a server does the work"!
