I love, love, love, love my friends who work in cybersecurity awareness training - and it remains a critical part of defense in depth, but imagine if (normal, not cleared) employees had to consistently and broadly take other awareness training to stop other tactics of criminals and spies all by themselves. Mandatory all-employee self-defense mat time. Mandatory annual recognizing of tampered locks. Mandatory “psychology of an insider threat” detection training.
We still put a lot on people with very little education or formal training, in cybersecurity.
