"Back-to-back #meetings are messing our brains.
Here's some cool #research from #microsoft
Microsoft’s Human Factors Lab measured the #brain activity of 14 individuals.
For those *with breaks* b/w meetings:
- Their brains were steady and experienced "coolness."
For those *without breaks* b/w meetings
- Their stress increased with time, suggesting a "buildup of stress."
It's almost 2023. Either we need to fix meetings or kill them."

RED ALERT, please boost! We got word this morning that Senate leadership has cut a deal to include #JCPA in the must-pass #NDAA.
This is a terrible, Rupert Murdoch backed bill that essentially creates a "link tax" and would make Big Tech and big media cartels even more intertwined. AND, apparently what Schumer "traded" for it was ... the vaccine mandate for the US military. I kid you not.

"Have you any idea how much damage that bulldozer would suffer if I let it roll straight over you? ... None at all,” said Mr. Prosser
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Douglas Adams
By a strange coincidence, "none at all" is how much long term damage the planet will suffer if climate change wipes us out
We're Johnny-come-lately apes with anxiety- this planet shrugged off the dinosaurs. Let's be real
Climate activism isn't an attempt to "save the Earth"- it's an attempt to save OURSELVES

I've been collecting reports from Mastodon instance operators as they cope with the #TwitterMigration: https://dltj.org/article/mastodon-instance-reports
Starting with reports from @chad (Mastodon Canada), @nova (Hachyderm), and @aurynn (Cloud Island, New Zealand).
Learning lots. If you know of other reports, please @-tag me and I'll add them to the list.
Dust Rings in the Wolf-Rayet 140 System
The two stars in Wolf-Rayet 140 produce shells of dust every eight years that look like rings, as seen in this image from NASA's James Webb Space Telescope. Each ring was created when the stars came close together and their stellar winds collided.

""Can you show me?" is a very effective way of closing down a debate. Not a lot of people in the "show, don't tell" camp." – @jasongorman
I believe that @kentbeck had a rule that no design debate should last more than 15 minutes without doing an experiment on the computer.
